I heard from a few of you in the last couple of days, letting me know of your plans to join me for the 5th Annual Giving Thanks Challenge. I couldn't be happier - really! I'm so glad each and every one of you will be joining me this year! It's such a great time to slow down a little and be intentionally mindful of our blessings, and to whisper a quiet "thank you" for each.
As I said earlier, I'm not going to reinvent the wheel this year when it comes to how the challenge works. It's pretty simple:
1) add the button to your blog,
2) write your introductory blog post, and
3) copy your Permalink.
Then:
1) add your first name to the link-up below,
2) paste your Permalink underneath it, and
3) leave a short comment for me.
Speaking of comments - I'd like to ask for your help with something. Depending on how many people sign up, commenting is something that can get away from me (and become a burden) very quickly. If only 10 people join the challenge, no problem - I will personally visit their blogs, look at their lists and comment many times during the month. But I just never know, as the numbers have varied over the years from 51 in 2009 to 150 in 2008. To me, those higher numbers mean some participants will invariably fall through the cracks and possibly feel disconnected, which leaves me feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. If you have time to be an intentional commenter this month, would you please email me, or let me know in the comments? I have a plan, and could really use your help! Thanks!
Again this year, I've decided to keep a running list on my sidebar, all through the month. If I feel like going a little deeper and perhaps explaining myself more on certain things, then I'll write a post that goes along with it. This will be a good way to keep the pressure to a minimum, yet leave the door open a smidgen at the same time. =)
Alright. Enough talk. Let the 2011 Challenge begin!

Oh. I have a few things to do first. ☺ I'll be back in the morning when I have everything lined up. Again thanks. Oh, do let me know what you have planned...sounds good.
Hi Leah, I hope I linked up correctly. I would so love to help with commenting, just let me know your plans.
Sue
I tested and would you believe it I put the wrong permalink, I am sorry for this, I will try again.
Sue
Yay, I'm so happy the challenge has started. Ok, I feel so badly that I'm not offering immediately to help out with comments. School starts again for us today and I'd like to see how I handle that, life, blogging, and emails first (as usual, emails will be the first to go) ... is that ok, Leah?
Good morning! A late start for me today as my postdated post didn't fly. My list lives in my sidebar so I've linked to my home page. (As I recall, you don't add Mr. Linky on a daily basis.) God is so good and I know that He has planned wonderful blessings for all of us in November.
Oh, I'd love to visit Sandi, but can't figure out how to comment. Any suggestions?
Hi Leah I would be glad to help out. Just tell me how. Thanks for adm this.

I am doing a list in my sidebar as well.
Today's post though to start things off is about my mother in law who just turned 90 and the Godly heritage we have.

Thanks for doing this again, Leah. I love it. This year I'm doing it on my blog's facebook page, tho, so as not to miss my regular blog posts.
:) I was looking forward to this! I'm glad it is November. Have a great day, thanks for doing this.

I'm going to join and have decided to do my list in the sidebar.
I have some cleaning up to do in my sidebar. My list is there in the right side under your button.
I will also mention the list during the month within different blog posts as well.
Thanks so much for hosting.
I'm joining this for the first time Leah - thank you for being our gracious hostess! I'm starting my list on my sidebar today! I really believe that a heart of thanksgiving is the 'cure' for many of the struggles we women face daily!I am so thankful for God's Word which admonishes us to give thanks in all circumstances - He knew we would need the reminders of this precious truth repeated often throughout Scripture! Have a blessed day,
Heather
Yay! I did it, I did it! haha This will be fun, Leah! And I must say the thing I am most thankful for is seeing you in a few weeks! Yay!
Oh... and I'm intentional. haha

Well I am linking up (for the first time) as I was already hoping to focus on Thanksgiving for the month with daily (short-- God help me write shorter posts) ... it seemed good to link up!
